Take Action On Your Health Goals

In my last blog post I talked about what exactly is a wellness vision, and why is it something you should consider for yourself. Today let's explore how you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

Step 1: Identify the skills you consider crucial in realizing your wellness vision.

These skills could encompass various aspects of daily life, such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, and organization. Consider the following examples:

  • Ensuring adequate nutrient intake

  • Making mindful food choices

  • Incorporating regular physical activity

  • Prioritizing restful sleep

  • Strategizing and preparing meals effectively

Step 2: Prioritize those skills based on what matters most to you.

Once you've identified these skills, prioritize them according to your personal values and goals. Reflect on what matters most to you and arrange the skills accordingly. This prioritization will guide your focus and efforts as you work towards your wellness vision.

Step 3: Implement Daily Practices.

Next, identify small, manageable practices that align with your prioritized skills and seamlessly fit into your daily routine. These practices should be actionable and sustainable, contributing to gradual progress over time.

Here are some examples:

  • Adding a serving of vegetables to each meal

  • Scheduling brief physical activity breaks throughout the day

  • Establishing a relaxing bedtime routine to improve sleep quality

This approach mirrors the methodology I use when supporting my health coaching clients on their wellness journeys. By breaking down overarching goals into tangible actions, we pave the way for sustainable lifestyle changes and long-term success.
