My Plant-based Story

Growing up in a meat-and-potatoes family, I often struggled with stomach issues and acne. Which I discovered was lactose intolerant. Despite using lactose pills, my symptoms never fully resolved.

When I went to college, my food preferences started to change, and I gradually transitioned to eating only poultry. However, after experiencing food poisoning from poultry one too many times, I decided enough was enough. I switched to a vegetarian diet, finding that veggie chicken was just as tasty as the real thing.

In 2016, I found myself in a stressful job, and my health began to decline. Multiple doctors told me the only solution was medication, but I wasn’t ready to accept that. Seeking an alternative, I visited a naturopath who suggested reducing my stress and adopting a fully plant-based diet.

I reduced my stressful CrossFit workouts, focusing more on yoga, and transitioned from vegetarian to plant-based eating. Shortly after making these changes, not only did my health issues resolve, but I also effortlessly lost weight. From that point forward, I became a firm believer in the power of a vegan plant-based approach.

My Yoga Story

My yoga journey began in 2010 when I was seeking a low-impact way of movement. Yoga became more than just exercise; it improved my flexibility, stress management, body awareness (even boosting my weightlifting!), and most importantly, grounded me with a sense of calm and presence. This positive experience inspired me to become a yoga teacher in 2015, wanting to share the benefits of yoga with others.
